Day - 1 Arrival in Dhaka

Arrival in Dhaka – Welcome to Bangladesh!

Bangladesh is a vibrant destination known for its rich cultural heritage, stunning landscapes and warm hospitality. Visitors can explore the bustling city of Dhaka, the serene Sundarbans mangrove forest, home to the Bengal tiger, and the historic ruins of ancient civilizations like Paharpur. With a mix of natural beauty and cultural depth, Bangladesh offers a unique and memorable travel experience.

Pick-up at the Dhaka Airport and transfer to the hotel by private vehicle together with your English peaking guide. Time at leisure.

Day - 2 Dhaka

After breakfast, enjoy a full day of touring Dhaka by private vehicle together with your English-speaking guide.

Explore life and sites of chaotic Old Dhaka. Visit the key attractions like Lalbagh Fort – the Moghul Fort, Ahsan Manzil – the Pink Palace of Dhaka, Star Mosque – the Mogul Mosque, and the Armenian Church from the 16th century.

We will proceed to the Sadarghat River Port and enjoy local boat cruise on the Buriganga River and explore the busy activities on both sides of the river.

Afterwards we will continue our discovery tour and ride a rickshaw in the chaotic and narrow streets of Old Dhaka. Get to know the people and the history during this tour of Old Dhaka. We will show you most of the attractions in Old Dhaka and if you are visiting Bangladesh for the first time, Old Dhaka is a must in order to understand the heritage, the culture and the way of life in Bangladesh’s capital.

Highlights: National Mosque, Ahsan Manzil (16th century), Dhakeshwari Temple (13th century), Lalbagh Mughal Fort and Star Mosque (16th century), Central Shahid Minar, Curzon Hall, National Museum, Parliament House etc.

Day - 3 Dhaka – Sonargaon – Dhaka

Pick-up time: 08:45am

After breakfast, visit the ancient capital Sonargaon which flourished as the region’s major inland port and center of commerce during the pre-Muslim period. See the remains of Bangladesh’s old capital, the Folk Arts & Crafts Museum, abandoned city Panam, abandoned Hindu temples, a primary school made of bamboo, and life at chars (small island) on the mighty Meghna River. In the museum all the local folklore items are displayed, where you’ll discover the heritage of this country. Gardens and pools, making a very calm place, surround the museum. In Panam Nagar, you’ll explore an abandoned city from the early 20th century. While visiting the Goaldi Mosque will take you back to the Sultanate period in Bengal.

Back to the hotel & time at leisure in the evening.

Day - 4 Bogra & Mahasthangarh

Pick up from hotel at 08:30am and drive to Bogra (200 km / ca. 6 hrs.).

Upon arrival, check into the hotel and freshen-up. After lunch we will visit the sites in Mahasthangarh. We will take you to several well-known sites, such as the Citadel, Vasu Bihar, Gokul Medh, Bihar Dhap and the Mahasthangarh Museum.

Day - 5 Sompur Mahavihara

After breakfast we will drive to Paharpur (80 km / 2 hrs.) and visit Sompur Mahavihara and the Paharpur Museum.

Evidence of the rise of Mahayana Buddhism in Bengal from the 7th century onwards, Somapura Mahavira, or the Great Monastery, was a renowned intellectual centre until the 12th century. Its layout perfectly adapted to its religious function, this monastery-city represents a unique artistic achievement. With its simple, harmonious lines and its profusion of carved decoration, it influenced Buddhist architecture as far away as Cambodia.

After lunch at Paharpur, drive back to Bogra and visit a local village bazaar on the way.

Day - 6 Bogra – Dhaka

Pick-up time: 10:00am

We`ll depart Bogra and drive back to Dhaka. Check-in at the hotel in Dhaka and remaining time of the day at leisure in Dhaka.
